The Stratigraphic Unit form is one of the most important part of any archaeological
software, since it encloses the main concepts of the archaeological recording.
The I.L.I.U.M. form owes those concepts to the various
recording sheets designed by the Museum of London Archaeology (MoLA;
formerly the Museum of London Archaeology Service, MoLAS) and, mostly, to the recording sheet
designed by the Italian "Istituto Centrale per il Catalogo", as like to other more localized
sheets.
This is the screen the user will see as a consequence of an "add", or "edit", or "view" action.
Anyway, each type of action (add, edit or view) allows a specific set of user interactions.
The S.U. form is composed of several "tabs".
- When starting to create a new S.U., the majority of fields are disabled.
The only editable fields are the first (S.U.) and the second (Type) ones.
In order to enable the rest of the fields, a "Type" (positive/negative) has to be selected.
If it's a negative S.U., some field ("composition", "color"...) will not be enabled.
- If the screen is shown because of a "View" action, all fields are disabled and the cannot be
enabled.
- If the screen is shown because of a "Modify" action, all fields corresponding to its "Type" are
enabled and can be edited
(with some exception due to coherence; the program will alert you in such cases).
Below it follows a short description of each "tab" of the form:

Analytic data II: Measurements
